Conceived and organized by the Artmakers, “When Women Pursue Justice” was one of the largest murals Lady Pink has taken part in. This massive mural was painted over the course of 2 months on the corner of Bedford and Nostrand Ave. The Artmakers had invited 30+ women artists to participate in painting an homage to many of the women in history that have helped push human rights to the forefront.

Lady Pink’s main portrait was of Alice Paul, and some of the smaller portraits also done by Pink.
The mural’s main portrait was of Shirley Chisholm in whose district the mural was located. Around 100 people attended the unveiling honoring a woman who wanted to be known as a catalyst for change.
The wall during the painting was covered in a massive scaffold. This was one major mission to paint!
